WHAT THIS IS
HOMECOMING JOURNEYS
Oong House’s homecoming journeys bring together a small group of global Koreans to explore Korea’s living traditions, local communities, and cultural heritage in person, over about a week, a few times a year.
Each journey is thoughtfully built around a particular theme and the season it runs in. And because every cohort is different, no two are exactly alike. We keep the pace slow on purpose: fewer stops in day, more time to actually ask questions, and sit with people.
When the trip ends, the community doesn’t. Every traveler is invited to an alumni network that keeps meeting—online and/or in person—long after the journey itself.
HOW WE BUILD AN OONG HOUSE HOMECOMING JOURNEY
Go somewhere different.
You’ll explore a corner of Korea beyond the well-worn itineraries, tourist circuits, and the version of Korea that gets exported to the rest of the world.
Go deeper.
You’ll meet historians, artists, craftspeople, artists, scholars, and/or cultural practitioners who carry this knowledge.

You’ll share meals, long conversations, and special moments with other Koreans navigating the same questions about identity and belonging.
WHO THIS IS FOR
There is no right way to be Korean.
Oong House’s homecoming journeys are open to global Korean adults at any point in their journey—however fluent, however connected, however far or close to Korea you already feel. There’s no entry test. Just curiosity and a willingness to participate.
